it takes an education, to change your reputation

Hi.

Today, I would like to share with you a life episode that has totally blown my mind away. If you have not seen this video, in this swiftly-connected world we’re living in, I wouldn’t be surprised if people suspect that you live under a rock.

Get out and see the world!

So anyway, Chris Rene went on the X Factor audition and captivated everyone with his life story, about how he was addicted to drugs and alcohol, and how he’s been free for “70 days”. He then proceeded to give (in my opinion) the best ever audition with his soulful vocals. He sang with his heart. He sang like he wanted it so bad.

There is nothing wrong with being a trash collector, but he knows he can be more than that.

And did I mention that he composed the lyrics and melody behind it too?

Unbelievable talent.

You can watch the audition here:

LYRICS:
(VERSE 1)
open up my mind with these spoken words,
let this music heal like an overture,
she’s the only one,one,one,yeahhh,
and so i roll with her, ohhhhhh,
that’s how it’s supposed to be,
living life with loved ones close to me,
shhhhh,ahhh,this is the remedy,
and i got the recipe,i don’t need no hennessy,
yeahhh,it’s been 3 years now,
haven’t had a drink and i’m starting to see clear now,
i’m putting all my fears down,
i can hear the cheers now,
seeing peace signs when i look around,

(HOOK)
heyyy, young homie what you tripping on
looking at life, like how did i get it wrong,
life’s too short gotta live it long,
to my brothers and sisters when will we get along,
heyyy, big homie what you tripping on,
what you really tripping on,
life’s too short gotta live it long,
to my brothers and sisters when will we get along,
give peace to the war in the streets,
give peace to the eve of the creeps, yeaahh,
i just ride, put my hand to the sky,
live life like i’m never gon die,

(VERSE 2)
see we be fighting and fussing over nothing,
so much destruction,looking upwards,
combusting like nothing,now listen,
it takes education,to change your reputation,
from bad to good, your even better now your elevating,
they be singing,family singing,everybody’s chilling,
not gonna stop this, living on the feeling,
man this is the real thing, tell me can you feel me,
wait until they drop this, dancing on the ceiling,

(HOOK)
heyyy, young homie what you tripping on
looking at life, like how did i get it wrong,
life’s too short gotta live it long,
to my brothers and sisters when will we get along,
heyyy, big homie what you tripping on,
what you really tripping on,
life’s too short gotta live it long,
to my brothers and sisters when will we get along,

And the more commercialised, slightly auto-tuned (blame the current music generation for this invention) version:

Chris Rene went on a long detour to finally hit the right path. How many of us know we are heading for a dead end, yet refuse to change, resulting in a life of decadence?

I, like most of everyone else, have been inspired by his passion.

Heal us all, Chris Rene. Your time has come. After only a single audition, the world is rooting for you. Regardless of how far you will eventually go in this competition, you know that you will go far in life.

I too, want to go far in life.

And so should you.
